Reduce. Reuse. ReWaste.

An innovation in sustainable water management, ReWaste is a waste to energy facility that converts organic waste into biogas – used to create green energy and heat.

The good kind of gas

In an Australian first of its kind, Yarra Valley Water (YVW), has constructed a waste to energy facility linked to a sewage treatment plant. It provides costbased and logistical efficiencies to businesses, while reducing waste entering landfill by turning this waste into green energy. This energy then powers the YVW treatment facility, and over 10,000 homes.

Setting goals for good

After an extensive strategy and naming phase, the goal identified was to create a brand that motivates change in behaviour for the greater good. With this confirmed, Fluid searched for naming conventions that would bring this to life. The name ReWaste was ultimately chosen because it clearly expresses the function of the waste to energy solution, co-branded with Yarra Valley Water who commissioned the project.

Theory into best practice

ReWaste is leading the charge to a more sustainable future, creating complete cycles where once there was a linear process. The brand mark represents the new cycle of reusable waste, while the individual leaves show the environmental outcome. The overall shape of the brand mark represents the energy created. Supporting tagline, ‘Reuse, Repurpose, Renew’, was created to aid with the overarching brand message – progressive waste solutions that power a better tomorrow.
